Burma Highlights - 5th Nov

Hi,
Is anyone else booked onto Burma Highlights departing London on the 5th November??
I am a single traveller, this trip will be my first solo tour; be great to hear from anyone else travelling on this trip! Looking forward to meeting you all! :)
Thanks, Mik

nice to chat anyone on this trip before departure 5.11

Hello Carola and Mik,
Just booked this trip only a couple of days ago.
Will fly independently but will meet you in Burma on the 6th. Can't wait to be there and to meet everyone!

Hi Delphine and Carola! Sorry! I didn't get any notifications of anyone responding! I am really excited about the up and coming trip! Not too long to go!
Are you flying from London Carola? Happy to chat on Facebook or anything else if easier? My user name is Mikaela Harriss
Mik

hi mik - like you i didn't get an email to say someone was chatting - yeh i'm flying from heathrow - this is my third trip with exodus - like you i'm really looking forward to our trip - did either of you [mik/delphine] watch the travel show prog on the 24hr news the w/end as the guy looked like he went to all the sites were going - looked brill

Hi Carola,
Funny system if you don't get notified of any responses! lol! I am also flying from Heathrow with Malaysian, perhaps we will be on the same flight.
This is my first trip with Exodus but have been on several tours with similar companies! First longish tour on my own though (boyfriend had no holiday left after our trip to NZ earlier in the year!)! I did not see that programme! I will have to look it up!
I am getting very excited about our trip! 50 days today!

well a bit early i know but my visa has just arrived - i only sent it off last thur - come quicker than i thought but it is valid till dec so all ok - does feel more of a reality now - nz funny i was looking at the new exodus brochure and they have a trip for there - you will have to tell all - exodus try and seat us altogether on the flight

Oh wow! I have just submitted my e-visa(!) trying a different route...! Lets hope it comes through quickly!
NZ is awesome! Such a beautiful country.
Will definitely tell all! :)
Do you have a facebook profile or an email address might be easier to chat on there rather than keep checking on here?

Hi all, just booked today, very excited, great to find some fellow travellers too! My second trip with Exodus, can't recommend them enough, last trip was brilliant.

Carola - which route did you use for your visa?

I'm travelling from Norwich but I'll be on the same flight out of KL to Rangoon, would be up for meeting up at KL airport if anyone wants to?

Am on Facebook if you want to find me Karen Dyball - I'm the one sitting in a big rock!

Look forward to meeting you all soon and to a great trip!

Hi Karen!
That's great! I have already received my visa approval letter, came through in a day! Just got to have the visa put in on arrival in Burma!
I would be happy to meet up in KL.
I'm on Facebook, my user name is Mikaela Harriss, I will look you up!
Very much looking forward to the trip!
Mikaela

hi guys - got my visa thru travcor - they obliviously charge but saves all the hassle - only jab i had to have is typhoid

Hey,

I booked a few weeks ago and looking forward to the trip and meeting you all!

Paula

I am a solo traveller too and will be on the group flight, though booked separately.

I got my visa in person as I'm from London - it was so straightforward and only took a few days. There was also no queue either when dropping the application off or when picking up my passport.

Re jabs, I was up-to-date with Hep A, Tetanus, Typhoid, Polio and Diphtheria. I also decided to have the Hep B jab as it covers you for life. Decided against the others though.

Great you are a solo traveller too! I'm sure its going to be a great mix of people!
I applied for an e-visa which has a letter which you present at the border and they stamp you in! Hopefully it will be a smooth operation!
Perhaps we all should meet up at Heathrow for a coffee before we board the plane?
Are you on Facebook?
I decided to have rabies, I am having the 3rd and final jab this afternoon!
See you soon - 4 weeks yesterday! :)

Hi Mik,

Happy to meet for a coffee, though I tend to arrive at the airport as late as I can!

Hello all,

How weird, today is the first time I received a notification since posting my message here almost 2 months ago. Didn't realise anyone from the group was chatting!
It's nice to virtually meet you all before the trip!

Like you guys I'm a solo traveller and this will be my 3rd trip with Exodus.
I'm a bit worried now as I see you've all had some jabs. I didn't as it said not mandatory (well still covered for tetanus but that's it). Is anyone taking anything for malaria?

I'm travelling with Thai Airways as I'll be stopping for a few days in Thailand after our Burma trip. I'll be arriving in Yangon about 3 hours later than you so I guess I'll meet you all in the hotel in the evening.

I'm also on Facebook if you want to "meet": Delphine Brossard (in front of Le Louvres pyramid with sunglasses and colourful scarf).

See you all very soon, just 10 days now, the countdown has started!

Delphine

I am planning to take malaria tablets as it seems a high risk place - I wouldn't normally. I think the bigger risk is probably dengue fever (a colleague's wife got it in Burma earlier this year), but there's nothing we can really do about that bar lots of DEET!

Looking forward to meeting you!

Hey guys!
Happy to meet at Heathrow for a coffee but don't feel like you have to! My boyfriend is dropping me off on his way to work, so I'll be there stupidly early! :( Alternatively we could all get together at KL whilst we wait for our connecting flight?! I don't mind either way! Just let me know!
Delphine, I had most of the injections from previous travels, I decided to have rabies mainly for some tentative travel plans next year! I was told I needed to take malaria tablets for the areas outside of Yangon and Mandalay, I have the tablets you take a day before you enter the area and for seven days afterwards. I bought them online from Nomad travel clinic which was somehow cheaper than buying them in store! Anyway they turned up the next day!
Anyway 9 days to go! Super excited! Will be packing this weekend! :)
See you all very soon!
Mik
