Essential Peru and Amazon rainforest

Hello there, Is anyone else coming on this trip  - someone must be!!  I am looking forward to this trip, hoping to experience lots of new things, people, places and landscape.  It would be good to talk before we go.

Hi, yes I'm booked on the trip and really looking forward to it.  I've been reading the reviews on the website and it seems we will be in need of a holiday when we get back, what with the long days travelling and the very early starts.  I'm sure it will be worth it for the variety of sights to be seen and appreciated.

Hello Heather, Are we the only two on this trip?  I'm just getting myself sorted with extra jabs for yellow fever as I am extending the trip into the amazon rainforest. I was reading the trip notes again and it certainly looks as if I will need a holiday when I return! We are packing a huge amount into a short time. October seems to be coming around very fast!

Hi again, I guess we must be the only two - at least we'll have plenty of room on the bus!  Alternatively, perhaps everyone else is too busy packing to post messages.  I'm not doing the Amazon extension, sadly. I just checked about whether we would need walking boots and we don't, just sturdy trainers or walking shoes, as there isn't too much walking and what there is is quite low grade.  I'm relieved not to have to wear my boots on the plane!

Hi, Well there must be at least 4 of us.

Myself (Malcolm) and my wife Sue are also booked on it. We are not doing the Amazon extension, just the 2 week tour. We are then going to relax for a few days in Lima afterwards before flying home. It will come around very quickly now.

We've not been to Peru before, but we have been to Brazil.

Looks as if we need to be ready for any weather.Think ill include gloves as well as a hat!

Both oldies 965) but have spent a fantastic week on a river boat in equador last year so not doing jungle this time.

Heard of strikes in Cusco,  hope they get sorted by next week.

oops not that old, cross off the 9.

Hello Mary, yes I agree we need to be ready for any kind of weather. I've got my thermals for the homestay on Lake Titicaca! The strikes seem to be in the form of road blockades and airport closure at Cuzco. Not a lot we can do about it, I guess.

PS I'm retiring next year, so you and Roger won't be the only ones eligible for a bus pass!
