Where wildlife roams, natural wonders abound and the sky has never seemed so big

Tours in Africa

From the sandy dunes of Namibia to the roar of Victoria Falls, the dizzy heights of Kilimanjaro and the idyllic shores of Zanzibar, to dream of Africa is to dream of wide-open spaces, huge skies and abundant wildlife.

Join one of our Africa tours and watch in wonder as millions of wildebeest cross the Mara River; elephants bathe in the shimmering waters of the Okavango Delta; a pride of lions prowls the Kruger plains; a camel train crosses the vast Sahara Desert; lemurs skip along a dirt track in Madagascar; or a gorilla lazily chews leaves in the Virunga Mountains... Whatever your dream adventure entails, you'll find it in our range of Africa trips.

As for African culture, it is no less fascinating whether you choose to explore the souks of Marrakech, visit the ochre-covered Himba tribe of Namibia or move to the beat of Ghana’s Ashanti drums...

Africa Adventure Holidays

Your words, not ours

At Exodus, we believe in low-impact tourism, and we combine the adventure holiday of a lifetime with the opportunity to experience local life – whether that’s sleeping under the stars on the bank of a river or visiting a village school. And African holidays are no different. Our goal is to provide adventurous yet sensitively run trips. Our Africa holidays are the kind that thrill and leave you with a sense of achievement.

“Everyone got the opportunity to get to know each other, and wherever we camped there were no other groups. We felt immersed in genuine, wild Africa, with the views and sounds that go with it. We stayed on a sandy island in the middle of the river and camped on the riverbank next to the trees, where you could sit and watch animals emerge. There were spectacular African sunsets, followed by fantastic starry skies with a soundtrack of animal noises. It was our most memorable holiday ever.”

Where adventure begins

Exodus began life in 1974, when two friends got together to provide an overland truck to western Afghanistan's Minaret of Jam – the most inaccessible of the world’s great monuments. It was the hippy-trail heyday and the journey from Calais to Kathmandu departed from London in autumn, returning in spring. Soon we were also travelling to South Africa, and taking hardy adventurers to the Amazon Basin as well.
