Panama Adventure Holidays

Panama’s Top 3 Adventure Holiday Experiences

1. Tour the Panama Canal

It shifted entire landscapes, shaped millions of lives and literally moved mountains to link the Pacific with the Caribbean to create one of the world’s most important shipping routes; the Panama Canal is probably the world’s most impressive feat of engineering and one of the wonders of the modern world.

You can't fail to be impressed as you watch gigantic white ocean liners navigate through rainforests teeming with wildlife. Parrots fly overhead and sloths and spider monkeys peer out from the trees on either side.

2. Explore Panama City

Contrary to popular belief, you won’t find many Panama hats in Panama City - they’re made in Ecuador - but you will find plenty of interest hidden beneath the sky-scrapers of this compact city.

Casco Antiguo and Casco Viejo in particular boast colourful buildings, flower festooned balconies and crumbling colonial splendour. Find more of the same in San Felippe where you’ll also take in picture perfect views of the city skyline and the impressive Bridge of the Americas.

In the centre you’ll appreciate the cultural diversity of Panama in the astonishing range of restaurants and nightlife, from Arabic nightclubs to Argentinean restaurants, from Japanese sushi bars to all night salsa beats.

3. Dive deep at Bocas del Toro

Panama’s Caribbean coastline has everything you could expect; aquamarine sea, cute candy coloured homes on stilts and the laid back vibe that invites basking in the sun, sipping fresh coconut juice on white sandy beaches. And there’s also plenty of opportunity for activity holiday exploits too.

The Bocas del Toro islands offer a stunning 13,226 hectares of marine park ripe for diving and snorkelling, fabulous breaks for surfing and endless tropical forests for walking and trekking holidays.
