Coast to Coast Smiles

An incredible trip of a lifetime. A beautiful country with an astounding array of wildlife, happy people and wonderful cycling. We met some lovely like minded people and learnt so much about this fascinating country from our superb local guide. We didn't want to leave, and would love to do it all again!

Guatemalan Highlands & Vocanoes

This trip was a bit different from the normal point to point trekking. It was much more varied and I very much enjoyed it. As an example, there is an optional ascent of Volcan San Pedro which has great views from the summit over Lake Atitlan. It's a fairly hard 1,200 metres of ascent. We took tuk-tuks to an early start around 07.00, were at the top by 10.30, enjoyed the views and instead of the normal packed lunch we were back down for lunch in a restaurant, after which we had a free afternoon. It was shorts and T-shirts by day but could be quite cold and windy at night ( most camping nights were spent on school playgrounds and we sometimes ate in a classroom on little children's chairs). I'd be happy to recommend this trip.

Cuban Highlights Cycling Adventure

When I took the Exodus flyer from my windscreen 8 years ago at my local trail centre, I knew I'd be going on a cycling holiday one day... and that day has just been. Cuba did not disappoint - it is a perfect destination for a holiday like this. Lots of cycling and lots of culture... oh and lots of Mojitos!

The Adventure of Being Lost in Gozo

I was given much misinformation when booking this tour. I am not fond of running into loose dogs, when alone on trails. I was told that no reports had been made of participants encountering dogs and that there was a leash law on the island. I was accosted by dogs on 3 separate walks in a week. Other fellow walkers had the same experience. Exodus outsourced everything to Headwaters and there seemed to be little if any communication between the companies. I was told that I would be the only one on the trip, although I was told at an earlier point that there would be 8 others. Why book a tour, if you will be totally alone? The walking tours book was useless. I was unable to complete any of the walks as indicated.

10 Hectic Days in Albania!

A great tour, highlighting all that is great (and not so great) about Albania. In all - a tremendous introduction to a country with loads of history and some fantastic mountain scenery.

A Week in Jordan

This was a great holiday with a packed itinerary and great sights to see every day. Petra and the desert at Wadi Rum were the highlights but every day was good; the views from Mount Nebo were amazing and floating in the Dead Sea was a surreal experience! Our group gelled very well and we all felt very welcome and safe in Jordan. The local people were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone.

A Week In Jordan

This trip far exceeded my expectations. We were a group of 18 and within a couple of days we were one big family. I've traveled a lot but never, ever been with such an amazing group of people. Everyone got on and we laughed from the start of the holiday to the finish. The itinerary was packed full of great stuff - I did the optional Cave Dinner, Petra by Night, and Snorkeling in the Red Sea - all were great and very reasonably priced. I know some people have complained about the Petra by Night (not in my group) but I loved it. The word I used to describe it was 'sweet'. The recording of baaing lambs had us all rolling on the floor LOL It's organised by local people so don't expect a professional performance, that's not what it's about.

Walking in the Alpujarra

An amazing week of walks and Alpujarran culture. As a non hill walker I was a little nervous about my ability to complete the many ascents involved in the guided walks but the pace was set by the group with plenty of capacity for those of us who live far from the hills! The scenery was continuously breathtaking with a new landscape around every corner. The Hotel Los Berchules is by far the most friendly and hospitable I have stayed in with a real feeling of being at home. The best packed lunches I have ever been given and the evening meal was always tasty and nutritious.

A Week in Jordan

This was a fabulous, exciting and varied trip made even more memorable by our great guide. Jordan is the perfect place to visit for a week - not just the rose red city of Petra but also the desert expanses of Wadi Rum and the chance to spend a night in a Bedouin tent. We covered just about everything - the Roman ruins of Jerash, the mosaics of Madaba, the Crusader castle at Karak and at full two days in the lost city of Petra with plenty of free time to wander around. For me a major highlight was the Bedouin experience - dinner lounging on divans in a Bedouin camp followed by a jeep trip across the desert and a night sleeping under the stars in another Bedouin camp. Followed by decompressing in Aqaba - fab shopping here - and finally taking in the sights of Amman. The rest of the region may be turbulent but Jordan is perfectly safe and very quiet, so it’s an excellent time to go. There were stunningly few tourists in Petra.
