The trip followed a familiar Exodus formula. We travelled through a variety of landscapes, visited palaces, simple villages, traditional and colonial towns and cities, temples and ruins. We learnt how historical and recent events in Laos and Cambodia have shaped the countries and their peoples, left their mark and influenced their philosophy on life. A varied and interesting trip especially in Laos as most of us knew little about this lovely and gentle country. Not a trip though with a "wow" factor.
Fantastic trip! Ecuador is amazing with so much to see - mountain, rainforest, cloudforest, coastal plain, varied paramo. There are beautiful people, colourful markets, colonial cities, and interesting wilds like jungles or mountain national parks.
The low: the walk across the glacier on the day of the practice climb, aimed at taking us just part way up to the North Col, seemed never ending - how on earth was I going to climb up the apparently verical snow and ice face looming above? The highest high - two days later seeing the tents on the North Col suddenly come into view only 20 meters ahead, what a view - 7066m we had done it! Then it got even more intense - descending directly back down via a series of abseils what a total buzz.
An amazing, tough, challenging, awesome, fun, relaxing trip - all that and more!! This trip was a real privilege and a real once in a lifetime experience. I had the best time ever. Definitely deserves the 5 stars.
This is a great combination of training, taking part in a sportive massively diffferent to anything you will experience in the UK and then watching the pro race next day. A day either side just for travelling makes it feel like a real holiday.
this trip is a great way to see a lot of key attractions in china in a short space of time. it is by no means a 'relaxing' trip as there is a lot of travelling between the cities and to attractions and never more than 2 nights in one hotel. however i have seen so much that i will never forget! i found some chinese 'stereotypes' that i had before the trip to be incorrect, in particular the food - we saw chicken feet and powdered ants, etc, but all the restaurants we ate in had fantastic food! although very few menus had english translation.
A fantastic trip that exceeded all my expectations. The wildlife is every bit as amazing as it's reputation, the snorkelling was out of this world, the Cachalote was a lovely little home on the sea and the guide and my fellow travellers were great company. What's not to like?
This was a fabulous trip that really exceeded my expectations. I knew that the region would be very nice but it was just stunning and the countryside was beautiful to cycle through. The accommodation was really lovely also...especially in Matera
