Value for money short-flight 1-week hike well suited for UK based hiking fans
I did this hike in a group of 16 in second week of Sep 2014. Found it quite warm, reasonably challenging, and moderately scenic. I have done a number of hikes before including Kilimanjaro, Machu Picchu, K-2 base camp, Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base camp etc. I found it more challenging than MP Pichu for sure. For me, it was probably similar to EBC in terms of average effort. The heat and steep climbs with slippery scree are the main source of challenge. Scenery is reasonably good but not spectacular, it s largely barren, loose rock.
