Summits & Ridges of the Queyras

Great trip in a spectacular region

5
This is a superb trip to get off the beaten track (we mainly used alternatives to the GR trails) and visit a lesser known area of France. The hiking is pretty tough going and there are no cable car/bus alternatives to help along the way!

Mount Kenya Trek

Well organised with good guides. The scenery is ever changing and quite spectacular. Great weather - perfect blue sky and sunshine on summit day. The camp by the caves on the second night is really something special with the singalong by the campfire and the millions of stars in the sky.

South African Walking Safari

My wonderful walking safari

5
This trip was fantastic. The guides, David and Ende were very knowledgeable, and excellent cooks!! They had a trainee, Colly, with them who knew a lot about tracking and local knowledge. We saw so many animals. It was wonderful to see them in their natural surroundings. I really enjoyed the walks, which were varied. However, the weather, and time beat us on Sentinel Peak, which was disappointing, but it is expected as it's winter in South Africa at the moment. A truly wonderful trip. I recommend it wholeheartedly!!

Lakes & Mountains of Slovenia

Lakes & Mountains of Slovenia

4
Slovenia is a picturesque country, whose people are warm and friendly. The mountains are not as severe as those of the Western Alps with the lower levels covered with trees so there are less traditional Alpine meadows than I expected. In my opinion this added to the scenery but it did mean having to walk up through woodland trails before getting your reward of the stunning views. Lake Bled must be a highlight of anyones trip to Slovenia but Lake Bohinj is also memorable The Pension we stopped at in Radlovijca has views of the Julian Alps including mount Triglav Slovenia's highest peak. It is within 5 minutes walk of the old part of the town with many pretty buildings and a number of restaurants.

Raid Pyrenean Coast to Coast Ride

Pyrennean RAid

This is a tough ride and July was hot. Despite this all of our group managed it. It was a nice group that road together on the flats and stretched on the hills. Everyone was considerate of each other. I broke my collar bone on day one which meant I was in the van most of the time.

Chimps & Gorillas of Uganda

Gorillas at close quarters

5
This was an excellent trip, in which siting gorillas is almost guaranteed. The chimps were great fun and boat trips with lots of game and birds to see at close quarters were excellent.

Papua New Guinea - Tribal Paradise

Papua New Guinea Tribal Paradise

5
This was a most memorable trip. Searching for Birds of Paradise, meeting the different tribes' peoples and locals. Contrary to all the publicity that PNG is not a safe place I felt very safe and very welcome by the people. This is wonderful country to visit with so much to see and do.
