An interesting and varied trip with great leader & support crew. Friendly people, lots of Buddha’s, interesting flora and fauna and some spectacular scenery. Hot and humid initially but cooled a little as we hit the hills. Cycling was challenging for some but everyone cycled every day with a few personal firsts achieved.
A wonderful country with such a mixture of sights, sounds, culture and history to explore. The people of Sri Lanka are so friendly and meet you with a smile. Having not travelled outside Europe, nor anywhere for about 7 years, I was very anxious about what would happen, but the whole trip was a joy and an experience I will never forget.
Myanmar remains relatively untouched compared with most of East Asia. The people are warm, welcoming and live a good self sufficient life of peace and harmony. This sadly is likely to change and taint the lives of many in a less than positive way. This is not about politics but the community spirit and self sufficiency of the people that westernisation is likely to take away. There are many beautiful pagodas albeit some are being rebuilt rather than being protected for future travellers which is a real shame. As a consequence UNESCO status, and the protection of these ancient monuments that it affords, is highly unlikely and these treasures of the ancient world are undoubtedly at risk.
The trip was all that it promised to be, visiting all the places we had read about and finally all 16 in the group managing the 2 day ascent of Turquino. It was a good group and we all got on well togerher. Our biggest thanks must go to group leader Tony and bus driver Luis. They could not do enough for us and took good care of everyone.
Overall a very enjoyable trip, especially as it was my first every cycling holiday. Great scenery, great wines, and tour leaders that really made it all work pretty much seamlessly. BUT...overly expensive bike hire (for what was provided), and very expensive (and disappointing) single supplement accommodation.
A fantastic trip with something for all ages and a great mix of activities, culture, and history with time to relax on the beach and by the hotel pool and some excellent freshly cooked food too. We thoroughly recommend this trip for all ages!
Good way to have a whirlwind tour of Morocco if you are unsure about the country, But if after your trip you plan to go back you will probably arrange everything yourself as its will be a lot better value and feel less like a package tour.
Thanks for your valued feedback. We take all comments on board and have communicated your concerns to our local operator. We are particularly concerned re the mention of shopping stops as this is against our policy and something that we stipulate is avoided at all costs. This is being investigated and the leader will be questioned related to this claim. We also thank you for raising your concerns re the hotel in Fez not being up to the Exodus standard. Again, we are discussing alternative options with our local operator.
