Excellent with a big BUT.
The Svalbard archipelago is the most amazing place, wide skies, millpond seas, clean crisp air. The captain of the Vavilov negotiated the pack ice with skill and kept the ship steady as we watched a Polar bear mother and her 7 month old cubs. The best moment for me was sitting in a silent zodiac listening to the popping of the ice. I spent a lot of time on the bow desk absorbing the atmosphere.
If you don't mind constant 'jokey' sexual innuendo, listening to letters of complaint, and comments, from Exodus customers read out for the group's amusement, and purple prose then by all means travel with Paul Goldstein.
Layers and layers, and yet more layers of clothes. Waterproof mittens.
The One Ocean team, lead by John Rodsted were all great. A well organised group of warm enthusiast people. There were excellent presentations by them on our sea going days. Ian Stirling was a font of knowledge, I learnt to tell the difference between summer and winter reindeer poo!
