If you want an introduction to South Africa then look no further. As with any Country, South Africa is rich and diverse. No, you won't get to take in the whole Country in 2 weeks but you will be given the opportunity to sample/savour what it has to offer.
From the Townships in Port Elizabeth to the ......., there's more than enough to keep you engaged during your visit; and for the amount of money you're spending, I'd consider it a bargain.
Be open minded. Go with no expectations.
If you get Johannes as your guide, you're in luck. Sit back, relax and enjoy yourself. You're in very good hands. He's South African born & bred, is very experienced in what he does, is very open to your questions and feedback. If you aren't happy with something, you MUST say something there and then. There's no point in complaining after you get back, what's the point? He's there to make sure you have s good time and you can rely on him. He's very knowledgeable about where to go, what to do, very organised in getting you ready for the next day/day ahead, and if you get to be in luck, you'll get to savour his culinary skills too!
You may only have 90 mins to catch your connecting flight at Jo'berg. That might sound like a lot but don't get complacent. I suggest when you are checking in online that you pick a seat as close to the exit as possible to give you more time. Follow the crowds to immigration. If you're a UK citizen, opt for the lane for non SA citizens where Visas are not needed. Getting through here could take a while, so be warned. Once you're through and have picked up your luggage, follow the signs for domestic flights and recheck in your luggage. You don't have far to go. When done, go to domestic departures. Ignore/avoid unofficial/non Uniformed people who try to help you, they will ask you for money for their assistance.
Bring your own tea & coffee, not all rooms will offer this. Hair Dryer too but at the Tsikigamma National Park you can always use the sea breeze.
If you want to avoid excessive UK data roaming rates, go to a phone store such as Vodacom and buy a local SIM Card. The card itself costs pennies. 1GB costs about R150 so is very cheap. So before you leave home, estimate how much you use per day and factor it up. If you're a regular on social media and upload a few photos a day, 1GB could easily last you around 5-6 days or even less! But don't forget to enjoy what's around you rather than what's happening on your phone! Wifi is available in places but is hit & miss and can be slow. South Africa's mountainous geography doesn't lend itself to wifi very well.
British passport holders and most European and Commonwealth Passport holders can obtain visas on arrival in South Africa for no charge. Please note that all travellers to South Africa are required to have a minimum of 2 blank consecutive pages in their passport i.e. a left hand page and a right hand page to enable an entry visa to be issued.

You should definitely try ostrich Sausages with traditional 'Pap' (Maize & water), as well as snoek fish cakes and the 'sexy' bread in Napier!
Some nice places to try this might be the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay or the Sea Forth Fish Restaurant, Boulders Beach.
