Zambia Project

Exodus started working in Zambia over 5 years ago, in conjunction with Baraka Community Partnerships. In that time our volunteers have been busy and their successes include renovating dozens of classrooms, helping provide clean water and sanitation, donating tonnes of educational, sporting and medical supplies and helping distribute life- saving malaria nets.

Biggest achievement to date

Our biggest achievement is really a collective one. Over the years we have worked with 5 different schools helping out hundreds of kids in the process in many different ways. Many of these children would have been deprived of an education without our support and just helping contribute towards a brighter, healthier future for so many is an achievement we are justifiably proud of.

Exodus currently works with three main schools:
-    Maguremeno School, in an isolated village on the banks of the Zambezi which receives no state funding or assistance. We paddle past this school on all our Zambezi canoe trips and have been donating supplies for many years. Recently our volunteers have helped plaster the crumbling school walls.
-    Kampasa School, in a slum of Lusaka, Zambia’s capital city. This school is less than a year old and has been built out of a renovated nightclub. It already has over 300 pupils desperate for education and we have helped build and renovate various classrooms and a library.
-    Kariba South, miles from anywhere on the shores of Lake Kariba we helped this school with classroom renovations and an income generating tailoring facility on our most recent volunteer trip.
