Try a host of different activities in glorious Turkish surroundings.
Located in the Northern part of Italy, the Dolomites are amongst the most striking mountain ranges in Europe. They are tinted in weathered shades of rose, yellow and grey and rise up in steep spires and soaring pinnacles, once coral beds forced up from the sea floor over 60 million years ago. Their towering walls have attracted rock climbers since the early 20th century and the awe-inspiring landscapes are a walker’s paradise, with numerous routes that explore the lower hills and valleys.
The Dolomites are an excellent location to see remarkable rock formations, deep-verdant valleys, emerald green lakes and glaciers. At certain times of the year there is an abundance of wild flowers and the quaint villages and hamlets you come to along the way offer an insight into life in this mountainous region.
During the First World War the line between the Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces ran through the Dolomites and many high level paths visited on our various walks show this fascinating history in all too much detail. On certain walks, we visit these open-air museums and marvel at their excellent viewpoints across the Dolomites.
