An extremely relaxed holiday - there's nothing else there. The hosts are generous and create a real family atmosphere andthe activites push novices just enough to feel challenging but not so much that anyone gets left behind.
Unfortunately there had been no fresh snow for a while which made the cross country skiing very very limited. For the first 2 days we were taken to the only area which had snow which was a small very busy man made circuit and it felt more like ice skating around the M25 but once our tour leaders realised that we'd rather be out in the countryside we went for some beautiful walks and gave up on the idea of skiing.
I enjoyed the area, the walks and the company of the group - it was better than what I expected. I did not enjoy the travel to Kas and the the hotel. Concerning travel - I do not understand why we had to fly Turkish Airways to Istanbul and then transfer to a flight to Antalya and then transfer the same evening by road a 3hr trip to KAS. I left London at 11 in the morning and arrived at the holtel in KAS by 5 am the next morning. There were alternative direct flights to Antalya. Also why not stay the nightat Antalya andtransfer the next morning to KAS. Same with return flight - why not transfer the previous evening to a hotel in Antalya? As far as hotels go, we were promised basic and I can live with basic. However, I believe not to have hot water on a winter holiday is a bit below basic. At times I did not have any water!!
My fourth holiday with Exodus and second to Indochina. This was a great trip and everything I expected: a really good group, the usual excellent guides and many 'varied experiences' (food, sites and cycling).
This was a really really great trip and I thoroughly enjoyed Finland, The downside was our luggage being lost for nearly three days on our arrival, which did cause problems (pack wisely when organising hand luggage, -30 does require thermals at least). The extremely helpful hotel staff did aim to ease any issues, it was felt that the lack of Exodus representative meant that they were not much use at this point (or any other). The continuation of our trip has been extended nearly three weeks into our return, as we still do not have our luggage back. Was it worth the inconvenience of not having many clothes on our return home, it was a really good trip............I let you know once/if our luggage returns. Will I use Exodus again, well the lost luggage isn't directly their fault so maybe!
