Cross-country Skiing: Trins & the Three Valleys

Fantastic time on my first cross-country skiing trip

4
I decided to try cross-country skiing after a few years of bad conditions for down hill skiing and I'm so glad I did. I had never cross-country skiied before, but after talking to the sales rep about the types of activities I did and experience I had in sports like ice skating and down hill skiing decided to book on an improvers trip. I also decided to try our rollerskiing and signed up for a one day course at Eton Dorney Lake. I would recommend doing this if you haven't skiied before as it gave me the basic (and not so basic) principles of this sport and made it much easier to transfer to snow. The group was great and the leader was fantastic. The scenery was amazing and the food was exceptional with lovely staff. I had a wonderful time!

Trins and the three valleys: Cross-country ski-ing

Good company, expert tuition and local knowledge and excellent local cuisine, as well as masses of exercise amidst great scenery all made for a really good holiday. And we progressed from falling over our feet on day one to reasonable competence, for beginners at least, by the end of the week.

Cross-country Skiing: Trins & the Three Valleys

my first cross-country ski trip

For me and my wife it was our first experience in cross-country skiing. Currently living in Israel we do not have recent experience with any winter sports, so for us it was completely new territory. The Exodus Israeli representative helped us organize the trip including the flight tickets and insurance. We flew through Munich, then traveled by train to Innsbruck (1:40) where we met the group leader and the other members of the group. Apart from me and my wife, the rest members of the group were single, but it worked well for all of us. I saw reviews were people complain that the village of Trins is small and it does not provide any attractions, but we did not feel as missing anything. The daily schedule included breakfast at 7:30 - 8:30, depending on where we were going to ski, then a short travel, ski session, coffee break, more skiing, lunch, then skiing again and we were usually back at the hotel at around 4:30-5pm for a tea session. Later we had some free time and then meeting again at the hotel restaurant at around 7pm for a drink and then dinner and e were staying together till 10pm, sometimes even later. It never felt like we were missing something.

A truely marvellous holiday

This was my first ever cross country skiing holiday and it was an excellent trip. As well as the excellent skiing there was great food, and a brilliant group of people to share it all with. I can't wait to book another cross country skiing holiday.

A very civilised ski holiday with beautiful scenery, a good variety of skiing and excellent food at lunchtimes. Also a friendly and sociable bunch of fellow travellers. No worries if you are a solo traveller.
